Landscaping Information

We have contracted the services of "Carol King ", to provide our mowing, detailing, weed and insect control and fertilization services. Outlined below is a brief synopsis of the contracted services:

Landscaping Information

  • Weekly lawn mowing March - October.
  • Bimonthly lawn mowing November - February, or as needed.
  • Turf will be mowed to a height limit of approximately 3.5 inches using rotary power equipment.
  • Mow residences on Villa Drive on Wednesday and Marcella Drive on Thursday.
  • Trimming of all areas not accessible to mowing equipment during each mowing cycle so as to insure a neat appearance.
  • Edging of sidewalks, curbs, patios and paved areas during each mowing cycle.
  • Plant beds and other softscape areas will be edged twice monthly during the growing season and as needed in the dormant period, but no less than once monthly.
  • Power blowing with forced air machinery for all sidewalks, curbs, patios, stoops and gutter areas will be provided weekly to clean up all created debris.
  • Leaves that fall during the dormant period period will be cleaned up and removed from all landscape areas.
  • Weeding of all planted areas to maintain a clean appearance. Crack weeds and other hardscape weeds will be removed. Chemical and mechanical means will be utilized.
  • All hedges, shrubs and ornamental plantings will be trimmed to maintain a well-shaped appearance.
  • Palm trees will be trimmed year round and a thorough cleaning will be performed during the non-growing season. A height limit of 30' will be observed. Palm trees over 30' will be trimmed at an extra charge.
  • Shade trees and ornamental trees will be elevated to a height minimum of 12 foot. Sucker growth from the base and trunk of trees will be removed as it occurs. Tree cuts on limbs with a diameter of 2" or greater will be at an extra charge.
  • Hedges and shrubs will be sprayed for foliar disease and insects on an as-needed basis.
  • Fertilization of all turf will be done three times per year - spring, summer and fall; and all planted material as often as needed to maintain a high level of color and growth, but no less than twice per year.
  • Policing of the grounds will be performed weekly to remove litter, debris and miscellaneous items from all landscape areas.
  • We will remove our created debris each time we perform our service.

Landscape detailing is on the following schedule:
Weekly: mowing of the entire property is done on Wednesday & Thursday. During this time they will edge and blow the driveway and walkways only. They pick-up debris and sticks in the grass on all the property on mowing days only.

The property is divided up into 5 weeks sections. The detailers do only one section a week. After they detail your property they will not return for approximately 5 weeks to do detail work again.

Detailing consist of trimming hedges & bushes, edging around trees and beds, pulling or spraying weeds in beds and blowing / bagging of leaves.

Section 2 starts: CadizCt., approximately Ibeza Ct., Terragona Ct. and just Terraza Ct - 8173, 8175,,8181, 8183, 8189, Villa –8044, 8091, 8092, 8093, 8094, 8127, 8125, 8164, 8165, 8166, 8167

Section 3 starts: Andalucia Ct., approximately Saragoza Ct., Terraza Ct. 8174, 8176, 8190, , 8191, 8192, Sorbas Ct., Marcella –8056, 8058, 8104, 8105, 8106, 8107, 8213, 8215, 8121, 8122, 8123, 8124, Burgos Ct., Lisbon Ct.

Section 4 starts: Alcoa Ct, approximately Bronte Ct., Borgia Ct., Marcella – 8003, 8001, 8008, 8010, 8024, 8025, 8026, 8027, 8057, 8059, Rolla Ct.

Section 5 starts: Esplanade Ct., approximately Recreation Area, Entrance of property, and Time to catch -up if behind.

The landscape crew is not permitted to engage in any work for additional compensation from GV residents during normal work hours. Nor should a member of the landscape crew ever solicit work from a resident. If this should happen, please contact a Board member immediately.
