GRANADA VILLAS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
November 13, 2007
Southwest Library, Dr. Phillips
CALL TO ORDER
Bob Boshears acted as Chairman of the meeting and called the meeting
to order at 7:00 p.m. Lois Gilbert acted as secretary of the meeting
and kept the minutes thereof.
ESTABLISH A QUORUM
Present were Bob Boshears (President), Pat Angel (Vice President), Nick
Frosolone (Director), and Lois Gilbert (Secretary and Treasurer). A
quorum was established.
PROOF OF NOTICE
Notice of the meeting was posted on the web site and a sign was placed
at each entrance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Pat Angel made a motion to approve the minutes for the October 2007 GV
HOA Board Meeting. Lois seconded the motion. All in favor.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Lois gave an outline of the treasurer’s report.
Discussion of the 3 houses with violations. It was determined that Linda
would check the one house with the stagnant pool while walking the subdivision
on Friday. The owners said the pool has been cleaned. Linda will check
and report back to the attorneys.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Dual Irrigation: Discussion of the letter going to homeowners. Lois
made a motion to forward the letter to our attorneys for review before
sending to homeowners. Nick seconded. All in favor.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Discussion of request for reimbursement to remove trees by Edna Stanley:
After much discussion, Pat made a motion to reimburse Edna for removing
the trees in her yard in 2004. Nick seconded. After further discussion,
there was a vote taken. Pat Angel and Nick Frosolone approved. Bob Boshears
and Lois Gilbert objected as the tree did not look to be dead or dying.
Since there was a tie vote, no payment will be made at this time. It
was agreed that this could be discussed again when a full Board is present.
2. Discussion of proposal from Lorenz/Cohn. After a short discussion,
it was decided that the Board should meet with our attorneys to discuss
this further. Lois made a motion to have the Board meet with Mr. Carls
to discuss this matter. Nick seconded. All in favor. Lois will make an
appointment for the Board to meet with Mr. Carls before the next Board
meeting. Bob suggested the first Tuesday in December at 7:00 p.m.
3. Discussion about 2008 Board meetings. Linda said she has talked with
St. Luke’s Church and they have several meeting rooms available.
We can only schedule one month in advance. Linda will stay in contact
with them and schedule our January meeting as soon as possible.
4. Discussion about Christmas decorations for the community. The Board
was told that Shirley Williams is getting bids. She will get the quotes
and take notes and forward to the Board for approval.
5. Discussion of the recent burglaries. Pat made a motion to increase
the time of the police officer on site. After discussion, the motion
died for lack of a second. Pat stated it is important to get the Neighborhood
Watch group active again. Bob volunteered to call Barbara Ellers to discuss.
After further discussion, Pat made a motion to have the police officer
once a week for 4 hours through November and December. Lois seconded.
All in favor.
6. Irrigation liason. It was reiterated that Nick Frosolone had been
appointed the irrigation liason several months ago.
7. MSTU Reimbursement. Bob said this reimbursement would continue through
2008.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Christmas Decorations – Joan Stanton will head the committee to
judge the Christmas decorations. Annette will assist and they will ask
for one more volunteer.
YOM – Edna stated the Yard of the Month was 8222 Rolla Court.
ADJOURNMENT
Pat Angel made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:30. Lois seconded
the motion. All were in favor.
