Letter to Granada Villas Homeowners February 15, 2008
Re: Recreation Area Access

In September, 2003 the electronic access gates were installed at the entrance to the recreational area and tennis courts. Since then, many key cards have been issued to homeowners and tenants of rental property in Granda Villas. Many keys have been lost, tenants have moved away and keys issued to service organizations have not been returned. Ownership has changed on many homes in GV and the records at the management company are out of date. Also any key system, whether it is keys or magnetic cards, loses its effectiveness after 4 to 5 years. To renew control of the access to the recreation area, a new electronic key card will be reissued to present card holders and to any new homeowners who request one. Your present key card will be good until April 1, 2008. At that time all active key cards will be deactivated and a new key card will be required to enter the recreation area or tennis courts. Please return your old key to the management company when you receive your new key. The guidelines for the transition period and issuing the new cards are as follows:

1. Electronic Key Cards will be issued only to homeowners of record at the time the magnetic key is requested. Keys will not be issued directly to rental property tenants. It will be the responsibility of the home owner to provide a key to the tenant. If you are a tenant and have a key card now, you must obtain a new card from the property owner.
2. Key Cards will be issued by written request only. Forms are available on the web site (click link) or from the management company. All requests must use the new request form and this form must be sent by mail to the management company. All electronic keys will be issued by the management company. Key cards will not be issued via a telephone or an email request.
3. Only two keys will be issued to each home in Granada Villas. The first key will require a deposit of $25 and the second key will require a deposit of $50. Both deposits are refundable at the homeowner’s request. When the deposit is returned to the key holder, the electronic key will be deactivated.
4. If you have a key card now please fill out the attached request form complete with signature, and return it to the management company. If you have already submitted the required deposit for the keys then no further action is required. A new key card will be mailed to you as soon as possible after receipt of the request form. If you choose not to return a written request form then your original key card will be deactivated and your deposit will be returned to you.
5. If you are a new homeowner and want a key card issued for the first time, please fill out the attached form complete with signature, and return it to the management company along with a check for the number of keys you want.

We want the transition from old key cards to new cards to go as smoothly as possible and do not want to inconvenience anyone. Request forms will also be available at the annual meeting. If you have any questions at all please contact the management company.

Thank you for your support.
